Ramallah, Jan 17, 2021 - The Palestine Exchange (PEX) announced approving 2020 Jerusalem Index selected companies for 2021, and accordingly it has chosen Union Construction and Investment Company (UCI) to represent Al Quds Index for the real estate and investment sector for the fourth year in a row within the selected companies that make up Al-Quds Index since 2018. This marks the ninth selection for UCI since its listing on the Palestine Stock Exchange for the years 2008-2010, 2012-2013 until 2018-2021.The index selected companies includes 15 out of 46 publicly-listed companies for this year, representing 74.38% of total market capitalization of various economic sectors.
Eng. Khaled Al Sabawi, UCI’s CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed his pride for PEX’s selection of UCI for the fourth year in a row, and his appreciation of the high confidence that UCI enjoys for fulfilling the conditions and standards that the PEX adopts in selecting the Al-Quds Index selected companies over a period of nine years.
Al Sabawi emphasized UCI’s commitment to contribute to advancing development in the Palestine, especially through its flagship project "TABO", which adopts an ethical and profitable investment strategy that combines investment in land with annual returns of up to 10.5% on the one hand, and preserves Palestinian land from confiscation on the other hand, by tracking its ownership chains, issuing title deeds, developing its infrastructure, and selling them, ready for ownership, to Palestinian families in Palestine and the diaspora.
